Tomorrow                                                                                                              By    Bob Gass

““Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”  Proverbs 27:1

We spend so much time worrying about yesterday and tomorrow. Yet one is buried and the other one unborn! There’s not a thing you can do about either – so why let them steal today right out of your hands. Don’t do it! David said, “This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Ps 118:24).

Get out of the grandstand; you can win only if you play the game. Don’t die in the waiting room! Jesus said, “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it” (Matt 11:12). Did you hear that? …forceful men lay hold of it”. Seize this day with all its blessings and its challenges, and live every moment.

There’s only one way to overcome your past: learn from it and then let it go. Let God use the very thing that others thought would destroy you, to change you into the person God has called you to be. Don’t wait for ‘some day’ – God is “a very present help” (Ps 46:1). Never say, “I don’t have enough time.” You have exactly the same number of hours in your day as everybody else does.

There are two things you can count on God to do: first, to give you a clear understanding of His will and purpose for your life; second, to give you the time and the ability to carry it out. What more could you ask for?”
